Plan B
Unbelievably, the weather has hit us AGAIN!
The dream for this Sunday was to feast together in the orchards at the Urban Farm in Wolverton. We had planned to BBQ and share salads, breads and puddings while sat underneath fruit-trees, watching kids run around and enjoy the wild pond, bee hives and secret passage ways through the woods. Magical!
But, instead of an Indian Summer and late September sunshine…we have had whatever the opposite of that is.
So - although there is a chance that it might not be actually raining on Sunday lunchtime, the orchard has taken a battering recently, the ground is sodden, the picnic blankets would sink in the mud and it would all be a million miles away from a gathering which is easily enjoyable.
This means in reality, postponing this gathering is the only real option.
We will do it again, and are eager to join forces with the Urb Farm and the amazing work of the Christian Foundation (they are our kinda Village people!)...it won’t be this weekend.
And, for all these reasons, simply going to a park somewhere else seems a little foolhardy. So, in order that we can still gather around a table and eat together and share joy - we will have breakfast at Ikea! (A poor substitute, but a dry one!)
Come at 10 for breakfast / coffee / pastries as you so desire. We will bring some card games and colouring in (but if you wanted to bring something too, that's cool).
Given that bringing your own food to Ikea restaurant is technically frowned upon, we will roll Biscuit Week over to NEXT SUNDAY when we also will enjoy our Campfire morning of songs, stories and space as we continue growing in joy.
Sorry gang - was really looking forward to this one. Still looking forward to seeing you one Sunday though…cos Joy is all over the place…even in Ikea!
