Once, when Jesus was sat around a table celebrating a feast with a load of his mates, he asked everyone to pause for a moment and watch what he was doing. He then held up some bread, broke it and said that whenever we were to eat it in the future, we should remember him and all that he has done for us.

Later on he did a similar thing with the wine that was being passed round.

This meal became a meal not only for the stomach but also one for the soul. A moment to pause, reflect, maybe even pray. To direct thankfulness to God for all the abundance that he has given and to ask for his help in the future. To marvel at his death and life…and all around a table with mates.

So that is what we are going to do this sunday. Share a meal and during it, pause to give thanks to God for his activity and presence in our lives.

Come if you know Jesus. Come if you don’t. There is room at the table for everyone.
